Perimeter "Tellagami" and "ShowMe"s

Today students received their math problem from a weird version of Mrs. Crain. (Click on video to watch our Gami.)

Students were to design a variety of gardens using only 24 feet of wood. Diagrams needed to include the dimensions and perimeters. Once they were finished they needed to decide which design was best and be ready to share their choice and reasoning.

Here are some "ShowMe"s of the most common designs.

These students thought this garden would allow more vegetables to be planted.

These students thought this garden would be easier to weed.

What were not good ideas for garden designs? stars and triangles. Why? You can't plant much in the corners!
